Description
HOXA9 Polyclonal Antibody. Homeobox containing genes are a family of transcription factors regulating normal development and controlling primary cellular processes like cell identity, cell division and differentiation. The HOXA9 gene encodes a class I homeodomain protein which is involved in hematopoesis and myeloid differentiation. It shows different splice variants like a 1.8-kb homeobox-containing transcript in fetal brain, lung, liver, and kidney, and 2.2- and 3.3-kb transcripts in fetal and adult kidney and in adult skeletal muscle. Fusion between the HOXA9 gene and the nucleoporin gene NUP98, a member of the GLFG nucleoporin family, on 11p15 occurs as a consequence of leukemia-associated chromosomal translocations.
