GW 0742 is a potent and selective PPARδ agonist (EC50 = 1.1 nM) that displays 1,000-fold selectivity over other human PPAR subtypes. Therapeutically has shown to have effect on pulmonary damage, inflammatory and apoptotic parameters in mice. It increases the rate of fatty acid oxidation and provides ischemia /reperfusion injury protection in cardiomyocytes.
