DescriptionRabbit polyclonal antibody to lamin A/C also known as Renal carcinoma antigen NY-REN-32 whose expression can be detected in the arteries. It is highly expressive in the greater omentum and is found in the nucleoplasm. It acts to disrupt mitosis and induce DNA damage in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), leading to mitotic failure, genomic instability, and premature senescence. This protein plays an extensive role in nuclear assembly, chromatin organization, nuclear membrane and telomere dynamics but is also required for normal development of the peripheral nervous system and skeletal muscle and for muscle satellite cell proliferation.
ImmunogenA peptide mapping at the N-terminus of Lamin A/C of human origin.
