Colivelin is constructed as activity-dependent neurotrophic factor (ADNF) C-terminally fused to AGA-(C8R) HNG17;which is a potent HN derivative. Cell death induced by overexpressed familial Alzheimer's disease (FAD)-causative genes and beta-amyloid (1-43) can be completely suppressed by colivelin. Colivelin administered intraperitoneally suppresses memory impairment and may serve as a novel drug candidate to treat Alzheimer's disease.
