Description
LAMP-2A Polyclonal Antibody (AMC2). Lysosome-Associated Membrane Protein 2 (LAMP-2) has been demonstrated to be involved in the direct uptake of cytosolic proteins in lysosomes and also participates in the endocytic pathway. LAMP-2 is used to monitor a very selective form of autophagy called chaperone-mediated autophagy. The protein is localized mainly to lysosomes; however, under certain conditions, it can also be detected in the plasma membrane. Interestingly, the level of LAMP-2 protein expressed on the surface of tumor cells has been found to correlate with the tumor's metastatic potential.
