This complex is a cation channel activated by neuropeptides substance P, neurotensin, and extracellular calcium that regulates neuronal excitability by controlling the sizes of NALCN-dependent sodium-leak current. UNC80 is essential for NALCN sensitivity to extracellular calcium.
