| Applications | ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot. Anti-cecropin B is useful for the detection of cecropin B in various immunological assays. This reagent has specific value for the study of cecropins in transgenic plants. The antibody may also recognize naturally occurring cecropin A. Cecropin B has been modified in some instances by substituting a single amino acid to render the molecule less susceptible to proteolytic cleavage. |

| Description | This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using cecropin B coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified and partially purified cecropin B. Reactivity against other forms of cecropins has not yet been determined. |
